When I first got into r...Oh dear...where to begin.

When I first got into rubber stamping which led to other art arenas. I started with stamps that met my passion -- oriental images and found Stonehouse Rubber Stamps. Now there are so many companies to select from.

So I'd look at the type of art that you prefer and narrow down your selection. From what I've viewed you like mixed media rather than a specific theme.

For paper....I'm a paper nut and have papers that are oriental, flowers because I love flowers, beautiful background papers and then plain cardstock to make cards. Quiet often I will purchase a pack of paper with designs that coordinate with each other. There are so many on the market that it is difficult to narrow it down to one package.

I also like napkins for backgrounds so I keep a stash handy for canvas projects.

RIBBON and embellishments are my most favorite items. I like charms, beads trinkets of all kinds which give dimension to any project.

With the new alcohol ink markers I prefer a dye ink because it doesn't smear with the markers -- Copic or Tria. Stazon does smear so I use INDIA INK BLACK.

I also have oodles of other ink pads. For embossing I use pigment ink because it stays wet longer to hold the embossing powders.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU'D LIKE TO HAVE BECAUSE I PROBABLY HAVE EXTRAS and I'd also be willing to be your shopper and mail things down that you can't find locally. I have the opportunity to use store coupons to save money on purchases. The local stores have lots of jewelry supplies and it is fun to just browse.

I forgot an all time favorite -- a Kyrlon gold leaf pen to edge cards and images. This is a must item for me.

DON'T BE BASHFUL. Crafters are known to share and on the positive side it will help me clean out an over abundance of goodies.

I bet I even have rubber stamps if you'd let me know what you are looking for.

- - -

LOVE THE CURVED STAIR RAILING!

Hugs,
Carolyn

PS Please share a picture of your Japanese book mark doll from Valerie when it arrives.Carolynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02314949745987771149noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4451952027070546133.post-51857767040283176772011-04-28T19:30:43.925-05:002011-04-28T19:30:43.925-05:00Well at least there is some progress...You studio ...Well at least there is some progress...You studio and home even when in chaos are beautiful, I see your spirt come thru. I have always had to have a 'stash' ... a substantial 'stash', so I don't have to go to the store to begin anything. Most of what I have in the studio, I have collected since I got here and stuffed it in the bodega before the studio was ready! With no place to go to get supplies here, I need the 'basics' .. and wondered what that was for the rest of you out there. Yes, we are all so different. Isn't it wonderful!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07473066748973697571noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4451952027070546133.post-778100665261218032011-04-28T12:06:48.089-05:002011-04-28T12:06:48.089-05:00Donna, no supplies?? And where-ever did you have it stashed before you had the studio??

For me I try to buy as little as possible and mostly use stuff I already have - I just seem to find that more rewarding. Although, unlike you, I do have a Michaels in the neighborhood and have been known to head over with the latest coupons! Mostly I've just bought lots of cheap paint, small canvases, gesso and gel medium, a brayer, etc. Not a lot of fancy supplies, but that's just me!pattyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12994187495930211144noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4451952027070546133.post-31194593885788698542011-04-28T04:18:23.766-05:002011-04-28T04:18:23.766-05:00I'm excited about the book mark :o) ... thank...I'm excited about the book mark :o) ... thanks! But the photos are great, it will soon be the little pardadise you need and then you can reeeeeeeeeeeelax! I will mail you my thoughts on basic scrapping supplies. But your chaos isn't soooo bad - mine is nearly always worse! Perhaps I will send you a pic one day, but only when you are feeling very strong! Havea good day, and wish you lots of strength. Your Japanese book mark doll is on its way to you, too! Hugs, ValerieValerie-Jaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01538850820168903865noreply@blogger.com
