* Book of Days ...

In the BOD group, some of us are reading 'Life is a Verb', by Patti Digh.   It has stirred up much at a depth of soul.  I'm sharing.  If you don't want to go there I certainly understand.

Some of the questions, though, in the first chapter which may interest you, follow:

If you had 37 days to live, I bet you there would be more of what you want and less of what they want. I bet you'd be happier, and by extension, those that really love you, that really matter, would be happier, too.

This week, I will be noodling around with the following questions (adapted from page 10).

1)Do I step back from participating in my own life? Why?
2)Am I giving the power about my own life to someone else? Why?
3)Am I waiting for permission? For what? Why?
4)Am I letting other people measure my worth? Why?
5)What story am I telling myself about myself?
6)What stories do "They" tell about me that I've started believing?
7)What does it mean to be in the shadow of "Their" story about me?
8)If I started saying "I" instead of "They", how would my life be different?
9)If I had 37 days to live, what would be doing right now?

You are, each and every one of you, my Lovlies.  I hope you are happy.  I hope, if you are so inclined, you are doing soul work.  Thanks for dropping by, it means a lot to me.  xxoo  Donna

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow. – Innerspace

dear donna, I have read 37 days - Life is a verb more than once. But now you have me wanting to get it out once again! I think what you are doing in your journal is good -spilling forth how you feel and asking questions. sometimes I do that too. You are also reminding me I need to get back to art journaling, thank you!

I LOVE what you have shared. You are so brave. So far, I haven't been able to do much more than think around the edges of these questions, still deciding. xoxo

Your journal... a work of heart and art! Good for you for digging deep. Love the photos of "around town" from the other day. And the fabrics you saw from the quilt show... there is an Andros Island in the Bahamas. I checked out their website and learned how they make those beautiful fabrics.
