Painting Sir Ian brought back a lot of good memories of my time in Scotland. I lived in Glasgow for awhile after arriving from Europe and before heading to London to live. The working class Glasgow accent is a truly amazing one - it took me about three days to 'catch it', and I'm usually quick to pick up accents. If anyone is familiar with the old Glasgow of the 60's, I lived in Clydebank, close to the Clyde where the big ships were built. I spent those days pretty much not having a clue what was going on in the household. One of the phrases which came to mind today was this one.
This one basically means 'whatever is meant to
happen to you, will happen to you"! (You can see my
issue with the Glasgow ways)

The more I read the more I get a picture of your life. It seems to me that you have ended up in a grand place with wonderful colors that suit your personality. I spent a week in Scotland and could not understand a word hardly - and they were speaking English!!!! Your "Sir" looks like a disheveled Scott come down from the hills to see if the grass is indeed greener on the other side! Love your work and your vivid imagination!!

Donna, love what you are doing to your blog and especially your blog button. I am so pleased that you will eventually add items for sale or least to view and URL where they can be purchased.
