* Expect Miracles

detail

detail
I think she is complete.  I have to allow her to 'hang around' for awhile to see if there is anything else she requires.  She will let me know.  Expect Miracles was not happy with the hand offering her the milagro - so it came out and now she is wearing the Milagro as part of her adornments.  The Milagro itself is Our Lady of Guadalupe which I aged with paint.

Thanks for dropping by all you lovely's.  Always, always happy to see you here.  Take care and create something absolutely fabulous.  xoxo  Donna

When you expect a miracle, nothing is impossible. Nothing is too much to ask for or too much to hope for.
To expect a miracle puts you in the position where it can happen.
You’re not begging someone else to make a miracle happen for you. no. You simply know with a quiet confidence that the miracle is now.

* The sun is shining ...

the birds are singing, the sky is blue ... all is well in my world.  We wander this old hill town endlessly as Caroline absorbs the colours, textures, layers of history and it's people.  She is fascinated.  She is overwhelmed. She is an artist.  It will be interesting to see how this affects her paintings when she returns to her studio on Hornby Island, located in our incredible Gulf Islands off the coast of Vancouver Island.  Caroline is a well known Canadian artist and her work can be viewed HERE.

It is my extreme pleasure to give Caroline full credit for finding my intuition which has lead to the painting of my iconic women.  I spent two blissful weeks with her at two different workshops, "Painting into Spirit", and certainly tapped into my own intuition.  Nina is my second teacher and as a result of having had both of them in my life, I have found the artist within and my own voice.  I am blessed.

At any rate, here are a few photographs from yesterday.

Can't keep my eyes of those old beams.

As you know, I haven't been blogging much lately ... too busy gawking and having fun with my friends.  Thanks so much for dropping by.  It means a lot to me.  xoxo  Donna

* Another Fabulous Day in San Miguel ...

Another day walking and gawking.  Enjoying meditation this morning, breakfast in a quaint little courtyard, the afternoon at the artisans market.  Tonight was warm and mild.  The rain has finally stopped.  On top of the Rosewood Hotel, overlooking the city of San Miguel we met Kathleen and her dear friend Jennifer to enjoy a couple of drinks together.  The stars, the lights of the city, fireworks bursting in all their glory overhead ... it was magic.  A night to be remembered.

* Such Bliss ...

Such bliss.  Kathleen and Ivan are still here and now my dear friend from Canada, Caroline has arrived and is actually ensconced upstairs in mi casa.  We have been simply playing every day.  Wandering here and there, gawking at art, sampling divine food and drink.   In the evening we sit by the fire listening to good music, talking at depth, eating chocolate and drinking champagne.  Does life get better than this.

Habibi is so spoiled these days!

Enjoy your day.  Thanks for stopping by and being such a wonderful part of my life.  xxoo Donna

* Book of Days ...

In the BOD group, some of us are reading 'Life is a Verb', by Patti Digh.   It has stirred up much at a depth of soul.  I'm sharing.  If you don't want to go there I certainly understand.

Some of the questions, though, in the first chapter which may interest you, follow:

If you had 37 days to live, I bet you there would be more of what you want and less of what they want. I bet you'd be happier, and by extension, those that really love you, that really matter, would be happier, too.

This week, I will be noodling around with the following questions (adapted from page 10).

1)Do I step back from participating in my own life? Why?
2)Am I giving the power about my own life to someone else? Why?
3)Am I waiting for permission? For what? Why?
4)Am I letting other people measure my worth? Why?
5)What story am I telling myself about myself?
6)What stories do "They" tell about me that I've started believing?
7)What does it mean to be in the shadow of "Their" story about me?
8)If I started saying "I" instead of "They", how would my life be different?
9)If I had 37 days to live, what would be doing right now?

You are, each and every one of you, my Lovlies.  I hope you are happy.  I hope, if you are so inclined, you are doing soul work.  Thanks for dropping by, it means a lot to me.  xxoo  Donna

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow. – Innerspace

Book of Days ...

Two double spreads ...

 Thanks for dropping by .. hope all is well with you.  xoxo Donna

And now, I'd love to share this with you.  Hope you like it as much as I do ....

I asked God if it was OK to be melodramatic
and she said yes
I asked her if it was OK to be short
and she said sure it is
I asked her if it was OK to wear nail polish
or not to wear nail polish
and she said honey
she calls me that sometimes
she said you can do just exactly
what you want to do
Thanks God I said
And is it even OK if I don't paragraph
my letters
Sweetcakes God said
who knows where she picked that up
what I'm telling you is
Yes Yes Yes

* Walk About ...

A few photographs from around town.  We are currently celebrating 'Candlearia" - a celebration of the coming of spring.  Vendors from far and near bring their wares to Parque Warez to sell.  A great time to purchase plants at great prices.  These are Kathleen's photographs.

Interesting building near the market.
Walk at the edge of town.

AHHH!  The Babies!  Aren't they absolutely gorgeous!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend.  I've currently got the flu -- hope it doesn't last long!  Take care and thanks for dropping by.  xxoo  Donna

* Almost complete

"Expect Miracles" is almost complete.  Perhaps some more work on the hand, and then to place the milagro in it somehow.

Hope you are all well.  Thanks so much for all your wonderful comments and for dropping by.  xxoo Donna
