Full Tilt Boogie - Practice Journal Complete ...

Too much FUN.  Completed my practice journal today.  Binding went not too badly.  Here are the photographs.  Haven't opened it yet as the glue is still setting.

My first 'kettle stitch' binding.  Not perfect, not bad either.  I am pleased.

I am waiting for heavier binding thread to come, so I may make another practice journal ... hmmm ... another Donna Parker Mystery?

The NEXT POST you see on this blog will be my 500th POST.  Please become a friend of my blog and leave a comment to enter for the cool Mexican giveaway.  Lots of great things to play with.

It is good to feel lost... because it proves you have a navigational sense of where "Home" is.  You know that a place that feels like being found exists.  And maybe your current location isn't that place but, Hallelujah, that unsettled, uneasy feeling of lost-ness just brought you closer to it.  ~Erika Harris

Donna Parker rides again! Well done on getting started and getting a practice journal finished. Looks great. Perhaps I will do the course some day, but not just now, all expenditure has been cancelled! Wow, tomorrow will be your 500th blog post, great! I'm at 391! I feel rather bad today, I haven't got anything that doesn't hurt, so I will be taking it easy today. like a bit more pink painting! Have a great day, have fun, and take care of yourself, Hugs, Valerie

WOW...your binding looks terrific. I admire you for attempting it. Your final journal will be exquisite with this type of binding.

I'm attending an on-line digital class today so just wanted to jump over during the break to see what you accomplished.

Hugs,
C

I think you did a good job on that binding. Love the colors of the book and the brown binding and the buttons. How fun to have your own Donna Parker books!

Hi Donna - I found you through Good Mail Day's blog. I saw your studio pics there - so colorful and fun! nice job on the journal. I just took the ROD class and made my first ROD journal...so fun making things, especially with things 'normal' people would normally throw away. :)

Interesting and creative cover choice Donna. Hope to make my first practice cover soon. I'm still trying to finish up a ROD travel journal before my memory of the trip fades.

Oh I totally love everything about this...(I just had to go back and make sure you called it a practice journal) OK fine - "practice" journal. It's so great, I can't believe it is a practice journal. The book cover is great and the ribbon with the fabric behind it and the buttons too - just all fantastic. LOVE IT!
