URGENT: Blogger issues which are making me nervous ...I'd love your input

I've been searching Blogger help these last few days. I've come up with no satisfactory answers. So I wondered if you'd like to compare notes on a few questions I have on the stats that are available to us. I usually keep an eye on the stats just to see who's poking their nose into my blog that I would rather not see there. For instance, these days, there are a list of unsavories which I don't have a clue how to block. I'm not even sure IF there is a way to block them.  From what I can gleen from the web, we are not to click on them for they can spread a virus into your computer lickity split.

Who has the following hits:  These are all  "traffic sources"
http://www.zombiestat.com http://vampirestat.com http://www.vampirestat.com http://magnetfox.com/ http://plastum.ru/ http://www.spy-sts.com/ https://www.google.com/ http://adsensewatchdog.com http://candle.ucoz.ua/

The following suspects are "entry"  Warning:  DO NOT click on any of these because they are 'live'.  I don't know why that is either.

In this case, Donna did it, dispatchfromla, facebook are OK, however the rest are dangerous. They are spy ware and malware. They can spread a virus in your computer in seconds if you click on them to see what the heck they are all about.  They can take your blog content and print it elsewhere.  Other than google, I have no idea who the rest of these drop in's are. They might make up to 20 hits a day on my blog (each).

The other thing I've noticed is where my audience is coming from.  In the last couple of days, China has reached the astonishing number of 1493 hits on my blog!  What's that all about.  I can almost guarantee it's not good.

As I said - let's compare notes.  What's happening with your stats?  Do you understand what is going on?  Do you know how to block some of these sites?  I don't.  I also can't find the proper information on what to do and how to handle these hits.  As long as we don't click on them 'cause we are curious, does that make it safe?  I don't have the answers and I can't find them on the web or in blogger information.

I was wondering if any of you had information which would be of value to all of us.  If you do have any good information or at least understand some of these things I've mentioned I think perhaps it would be a great thing to discuss and exchange information.  What do you think?

I'd really love to hear from you on this topic.  Thanks.

Thanks so much for dropping in.  Thanks for commenting on any concerns you may have regarding the material above.  If you can shine any light on any of it - that would be wonderful!

I also have a lot of 'Visitors' from China and Russia. I think they cannot harm us as long as we just ignore them. I never click on anything I don't know. I am sure they just want us to get curious and click....so I think we have no choice but to pretend they are not there! Hugs, Valerie

I'm sorry, I have no idea. I have a lot of visitors from Russia but I'm not really concerned about them. Don't have the sites you're referring to but thanks for letting us know because I sure would click on them to see what my site was doing there. :)

Donna, I belong to some large digital groups and many of them have complained that people are stealing their art and posting it as their own. There is one in Italy and one in Russia in particular who does this all of the time. They even go so far as to put their signatures on the art. That is why I always recommend that you put your name or some type of logo on your art when you post to your blog. Stating your images are copyrighted doesn't prevent them from making a copy AND IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TRACK THEM DOWN. I have left messages on their blogs stating they have posted stolen images with no response. You also take some gorgeous photos and may want your name on them too.

As far as eliminating people from viewing your blog, the only way is to go to settings under BASIC permissions and you can stipulate that only blog authors can visit your blog or you can be more specific and list those who can visit your site by listing them which could be a nightmare.

I notice that my digital blog gets a lot of hits from Russia and perhaps the search on "digital" makes it more vulnerable.

Here is a way to see if your art is anywhere on the web.

1) Go to google and at the top bar
2) Click IMAGES
3) When the window opens using BROWSE upload an image from your computer which you have posted to your blog
4) Click on the search icon far rt.
Google will do a scan and list all of the images exactly like yours and the source or some that are similar.

Hope you will check it out.
By the way HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

Love hugs
c

Sorry Donna...got none of these on my traffic list. Do you have spybot or malware detector programmes on your puter, I do. All protection programme manufacturers have to provide a basic free service for the public to down load. might be worth checking out. :D XXX

Donna, truthfully I have not paid any attention to my stats lately. What I have noticed tho, is that I am getting a LOT of annoying anonymous comments. Blogger has been doing a good job so far of just sending them to the spam folder and they don't make it onto my blog but I do get an email each time they are posted. I will have to be a little more vigilant about what is going on!

One of the best things about being on WP is that it catches all of the baddies before they get to my blog although lately I have been getting quite a few anonymous emails about my old blog Dolly's daydreams on blogger.

I think you are right to be nervous because I know a few blogger friends who have had their blogs hijacked and their Pay Pal accounts broken into. How that happens I do not understand. The info that I find for help is written more for people who understand all the technical jargon, I too find it frustrating. There are a few google help sites that will respond to a request, you might take that route. The only other thing I can think of is watch your titles, I notice some titles seem to attract a lot more in random searches than others. Keep us posted. ~Diane

Sadly, you cannot block these guys. They are not real traffic and somehow have found a way to bounce traffic off your site for their own gain. Whatever you do, do NOT click their link when you are checking the stats link. That's a good way to infect your computer. Google is aware of this but they say there is nothing that they can do since it is hard to distinguish between their traffic and real traffic. I have the same problem.
