* My first signature. Remains of the Day Journal.

Click to play this Smilebox slideshow

This is a fun exercise.  For one thing, I don't really know what I want, so I'm simply allowing.  I have the second signature made, however it's not sewn together.  I'm beginning to realize I am putting waaaay to much on each page.  I am backing off that approach on the last half of the second signature.

Had another interesting learning experience.  I used some very vintage paper.  When I sewed the signature together, the perforations from the needle acted like a knife.  When I was finished, two pieces of paper simply fell out.  The age of the paper couldn't stand it.  Since they were pages I could write on, I folded them up and tucked them into a pocket.

It is important that students bring a certain ragamuffin, barefoot irreverence to their studies; they are not here to worship what is known, but to question it.  ~Jacob Bronowski

Wow, Donna, this is really wonderful, it has turned out sooooooo great! Love it. I think things like that are rather addictive, but you seem to have greatly enjoyed working on it! I looked at your sunset on your header, but it looks muxch better than my smudges! I think I need more frustration to provoke me to work! So, I am off to bed now, so I wish you a good night. Hugs, Valerie

Donna, you are gong to have a blast working through your journal. Love what you have accomplished so far.

Had a problem with blogger yesterday; I could read but couldn't post messages.

Today I'm totally exhausted; worked in the yard all day. Didn't quite finish but there is always tomorrow.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Hugs,
c

I don't know when I will start mine . . as I said I bought the course, have read through some of the materials and watched some of the many videos , , , but i am not in a place to start a new project -yet!! I definitely will do it at some point and seeing your first signatures is really helpful, thank you!! : 0 ) lenna

I absolutely love what you did. Wow this journal is just great. I recognized some rubber stamps, etc. Thanks for the link to your video. So enjoyed it. These journals are so addictive and I especially enjoy doing the pages a lot. I can sit for hours sewing them. I am so wishing now I would have put some of my pages in your box. I will do that next time.
